Grandmother's Dream - Rotating Cactus Roses

I did a post on this pattern here:

This week's post is on variations of the classic.

One can rotate it around a central pivot point
in classic German folk art style.

A graceful example from the Pilgrim Roy Collection

It's BlockBase #766
Although it has appliqued stems it's mostly pieced.

Names:
Grandmother's Dream - Carlie Sexton
Double Tulip - Woman's Home Companion
Lily Flower or Tulip - Good Housekeeping

This sampler from Luzerne County, Pennsylvania is the earliest
date-inscribed example I've found. Two rotations of the design
frame the center inscription dated 1846.

This one doesn't rotate---it's a two way mirror image.

I didn't find any published patterns or names for this less symmetrical variation.

Although it's relatively common in 19th-century quilts

the Heritage Park Museum in Calgary, Canada

Nancy Stroud Cheek in the Arkansas Territorial Restoration Museum

Sampler in Jane Lury's Collection
A variation with four diamonds rather than six.

A set of unnamed blocks.
